The Briggs & Stratton 15KW unit is excellent, does handle our entire home without difficulty. On our initial test we switched off nothing and the generator picked up all the load with no indication of strain. To see what an increased load would do we switched on the downstairs air conditioning unit. Again, no problem.

After reconnecting outside power our Briggs generator sensed the change and disconnected. Following a brief cooldown period the engine shut down. The system returned to ready, waiting for a loss of outside power.

Our electrician was so impressed with the entire Briggs system he's recommending it to his customers. He also told me Briggs & Stratton is the only standby generator system he'll install from now on.
