Another in Earthbeat!'s Tribal Collection series, Tribal Waters is a marriage of contemporary and traditional sound. It's a celebratory synthesis, bringing together nature sounds, bells, spoken word, chant, drumming, horns, flute, and keyboards. Presented by artists of multiple tribes (largely from the western United States), each song is a meditation and prayer, a call for mindfulness. Tribal Waters as a whole is like a river running through all terrain, weather, depth, and velocity. It can be enjoyed as a centering touchstone as the listener allows the sound to unwind and heal while he or she is bathed in beauty. This collection is a reminder of our connection to one another as well as to the earth, and of the great reverence we must hold for that which sustains us. --Paige La Grone

The Best Ever!5
This is the first CD I have ever bought, or heard, from Native Americans. Now, I listen to it over and over and over again, no matter what I am doing. It is very beautiful with a variety of calming, moving sounds. You can feel the music move right through you, clensing your mind, body and senses.
I definitely recommend this CD above all others.

Wonderful, soothing, authentic...5
The 2-star review by Katherine Marek ("More music, less talk,") is very misleading. There is very, very little talking on this CD. Only the first introductory track has 50 seconds of a Native American elder speaking about Mother Earth and water. It is in fact one of my favorite songs on this CD. The rest of that song is the same elder in a traditional chant with native drum and river sounds. If you don't like it, skip it. I have over 1,600 Native American flute songs on my I-Pod and these 13 songs rank among the best of them. You'll enjoy it very much, even the "Yada, yada, yada"... following in it's entirety:

"Water is very important to all the living things.
Not only the human; the plant live; the animal life; the rock life...
We the people, we the living things on this Mother Earth, is part of that water.
Someday, we're not going to have clean water.
So let's appreciate the water - Sing to the water, to make the Water Spirit happy.
Save it for all the living things on this Mother Earth of ours.
Today - it's really important for us.
The water flows over the Mother Earth - it comes out of the ground - clean as can be - fresh."

The Soul is in the Music5
A great collection of pieces for those interested in Native American music and its influences. I play it at work constantly.
