Product Description

Are you making a living? Or as Joe Dominguez puts it, are you making a dying? Dominguez was a Wall Street analyst who walked away from a high-powered financial career in 1969, retiring at age 30. Afterward he lived comfortably on about $7,000 per year, while donating a small fortune to various charities. Transforming Your Relationship with Money is his life's work- a revolutionary guide that will help you find peace with the concept of money, stop consuming things you don't really need, and start contributing to the goals and ideals you believe in. Joe Dominguez achieved financial independence through a path of inquiry that led him to question the very nature of our relationship with money. On this live audio seminar, he illuminates the equation between money and our most precious resource-our life energy-so that a powerful new definition of money emerges. In nine simple steps he teaches you how to consciously track, evaluate, and direct the flow of money-without compromising your principles or most cherished dreams.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal
In 1997 Dominguez (coauthor, Your Money or Your Life) died, leaving a lifelong legacy, having made a difference to those struggling to integrate money successfully into their lives. In this special collection of parts of his 1980-85 seminars on "Transforming Your Relationship with Money," listeners have a rare opportunity to hear Dominguez explain his philosophical approach to making a living, vs. making a dying, and reveal his nine steps to achieving success by consciously tracking, evaluating, and directing the flow of money, without compromising one's principles and dreams. The accompanying workbook makes this seminar-in-a-box a solid contribution to the vast financial management genre, highlighted by the author's principle-driven approach that enabled him at age 31 to retire on $500 a month. While Dominguez's comment that he is not a professional speaker is certainly true, his heartfelt delivery in these live programs still conveys the power that comes from asking fundamental questions about one's relationship with money. A very special program; recommended for all libraries. Dale Farris, Groves, TX

About the Author
Joe Dominguez was born in Spanish Harlem, trained as a mechanical engineer at the City College of New York, and worked for ten years on Wall Street as a financial analyst. He retired at age 30 in 1969, and dedicated the rest of his life to humanitarian service. He is the author, with Vicki Robin, of the national bestseller Your Money or Your Life.

From AudioFile
This is the most annoying listening experience in recent memory -- a live recording in a horrible room with an inconsistent microphone. But it's also one of the most powerful on the subject of relating to one's money. The former Wall Street broker made his money early, then spent most of his career giving seminars on managing money. It's your life energy, he says, and you'll move toward financial independence more quickly if you think of it that way. One of many powerful suggestions he offers is to keep track of every cent you spend and weigh the amounts against what really matters to you. It's a simple approach but could be the turning point you're looking for. T.W. © AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine

If the Secret hasn't worked for you yet, try Joe's method. It is the nuts and bolts of financial freedom, no magic tricks just roll your sleeves up and follow the steps and life has to get better by the day. There is info in this programe that was news to me and it has changed how I think about money. A Currency of Hope is another real book about turning around finances.
