Great book by an author that some consider to be exaggerating, but I consider to be refreshing.

Worth including because America has become a police state. Not only is Halliburton building prison camps in the US for US citizens, but US soldiers are being asked if they would be willing to disarm US citizens--those that say yes stay home, those that say no go to Iraq.

Tenet blew it. He was too busy pandering to keep his job to actually be effective. He also fails to note that in the ten years prior to becoming DCI (because no one else wanted the job), he was active participant in dismantling the US Intelligence Community. See my longer review. See my longer review. Superb review that shows us that terrorism (or asymmetric warfare) goes back to the 1940's with opposition to despotic dictators that the West and Russia supported against their own people.

Brilliant work. My own thesis in 1976 (free at OSS.Net in Early Papers) found that it is middle class well-educated and well-off individuals that rebel against dictators. The fastest way to cool Bin Laden is to withdraw our military and our financial assistance to both Israel and the Arab dictators that refuse to aid Palestinians.

This is one of two superb book that make it clear that CIA and Special Forces and the Air Force won Afghanistan, and CIA had "eyes on" Bin Laden for 4 days. Tommy Franks refused to put a Ranger battalion around Bin Laden's known path, OR he was ordered not to by Don Rumsfeld, who also allowed the Pakistanis to evaculate 3000 Taliban and Al Qaeuda from Tora Bora with an all-night air corridor.

Extremely useful book--the bottom line is that the federal government is now both inept and insolvement, and only localized resiliency will triumph over disasters.

Another troubling book that persaudes me Cheney is impeachable and indictable.

Gulliani is at minimum a fraud, and at worst a conspirator to the murder of most of those killed in NYC, including firefighters, by controlled demolitions planted by Larry Silverstein to get rid of asbestos and collect $7 billion (undoubtedly with collusion from the insurance companies, for no insurance company would ignore all the evidence that this author and others have discovered).

Essnetial reading. The US public, for being inattentive and dumbed down (and not at all served by corporate media), has been betrayed.

It's a pity generals do not discover their voices until after they retire and have a pension. Every one of our generals and admirals should have refeused to obey Rumsfeld's illegal orders, and remanded him to investigation and indictment.

Unfortunately, this author misses the point. The US is guilty of war crimes, of virtual colonialism, of unilateral militarism including 750 unwanted bases around the world, and of predatory immoral capitalism. We are in a race between education that can create stabilizing wealth, and global anarchy. The only "ideas" that the US is fielding are the lunatic notions of the extremist right..
