Editorial Reviews

From the Manufacturer
Final Fantasy II, which was released in Japan in 1988 and in the U.S. in 2003, set the benchmark for the role-playing genre. Utilizing complex story development and deeper characterizations than previous games, Final Fantasy II tells the story of a malevolent emperor that has called on demonic monsters to take over the world. In the chaos that follows, thousands succumb to their evil attacks until four young, orphaned survivors take it upon themselves to stop the merciless rule and avenge the deaths of their parents.

This Super Nintendo-platform reissue includes new cinematic movies, opening theme songs, event scenes (including updates of the original event sequences), enhanced graphics, improved sound quality, as well as new game-play modes, making the game accessible to beginners and veterans alike.

Customer Reviews

Final Fantasy II4
I love the game, it plays well. But you can't turn off the power because the cartridge does not save the game.

Final Fantasy 2 (America)5
Great Game, with an extraordinary storyline. Great for collectors of vintage video games and for gamers who like to play the oldies. Not too short and not too long a great addition to any gamers collection.

The second best Final Fantasy game.5
Next to Final Fantasy VI (FFIII) this is the best game in the franchise. Everything is perfect; gameplay, sound/music, graphics, and most of all it's story.

One thing I've notice with these games is that The best stories in Final Fantasy don't completely revolve around a love story, being overly emotional about someting, or a villian responsible for 3/4 of all the slash fanfiction on the internet. I'm looking at you Sephiroth. Buy this game at all costs along with FFVI, and FFXII, and bury FFVII in it's well deserved grave.
