Yes, Gaba does help you go to sleep, because it relaxes you. I take them because I suffer with anxiety and anxiety/panic attacks. If I'm feeling frustrated, too much on my mind, no matter how small, I usually take about one pill and I feel better. If I feel a panic attack coming on, or overwhelming feelings of fear, anger, etc., I will take two or more pills. It really makes a huge difference. For me, it doesn't make me too tired during the day. However, it does help me to sleep when I need it to because it helps relax my brain and I can focus on nothing but the zzzzzz.
