About the Author
Clement C. Moore (1779–1863), an American scholar and poet, first wrote The Night Before Christmas in 1822 to entertain his children. A friend submitted it to a local newspaper, The Troy Sentinel, where it was published on December 23, 1823. Moore's delightful description of St. Nicholas and his eight flying reindeer has since become the definitive portrait of Santa Claus.
Customer Reviews
Just what I was looking for
This was just what I wanted for my 20 month old nephew. He loved the illustrations.
Twas a Great Little Board Book...
And all through the house not a creature was stirring because all three of my girls, ages 1.5 to nearly 7 were sitting around me and on my lap listening to the story and looking at the pictures intently. They love it, I love it, the 3 year old wasn't rolling around on the floor, the 1.5er wasn't trying to turn the pages as fast as she could. And because I will probably pack it away with the other decorations until next year, the board book is a wonderful idea. The illustrations are more realist than fantasy, but still quite nice and my children didn't seem to mind a bit. But whichever book you choose, it's the classic story most of us grew up with that makes the magic.
Christmas Board Book
This Christmas board book contains the classic poem and has been fun to read to my children.
