Daniel Kurtzman chronicles the absurdities of politics as editor of politicalhumor.about.com, the popular website that is part of The New York Times Company's About.com network. A former Washington correspondent-turned-political satirist, his work has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle and Salon.com, among other publications. As an equal opportunity offender, Kurtzman is also the author of How to Win a Fight with a Conservative.

Good Book
I bought this book hoping to have a better understanding of conservatism to verbally battle my liberal friends. This book was filled with hilarious stereotypes right from the beginning. However, after a few more pages I began to realize that the same jokes were being repeated over and over again. Also, because this book is so short, it only gave a few examples on how to win a fight with a liberal.

This book mostly displayed basic debate techniques that you could learn from other sources. (Such as the internet, public speakers, or common sense.)

Still, I can't deny how funny and unique this book is. Although, for a person looking for serious no BS facts on how to beat a liberal I'd look elsewhere.

Sophomoric
What a waste of money. Large print, huge spaces, thin paperback written as to appeal to 7th. graders, this book is a joke.

I must say even I found it amusing
Even though I am what would traditionally be seen as a Liberal, I have to say that I found this book quite amusing. I just worry that some people take some of these viewpoints a little too seriously.

Daniel Kurtzman takes all of the traditional jibes and cliches about liberals and turns it into a hilarious charicature that people of any political persuasion can enjoy. Perhaps the most enjoyable part of this miniature book is the 'Liberal Hall Of Shame'. It's packed full of deviants, miscreants and perverts alike and offers an amusing digression on the misdemeanours that are hidden in the liberal closet.

I have yet to read Kurtzman's companion book 'How To Win A Fight With A Conservative', but if it's as good as this one I'm sure it will be a worthwhile purchase.
