This thick slicing disc makes wonderful 1/4-inch slices with ease. Use it to slice tomatoes for sandwiches, to slice pineapple and bananas for fruit salads, or to make thick slabs of potatoes or eggplant for soups and stews. The raised shelf behind the cutting blade prevents slices from colliding with the disc itself, guaranteeing uniform, unbroken slices every time. The disc slots easily onto the detachable disc stem, but be sure to handle it carefully, as these blades are very sharp. --Jennifer Harris

Cuisinart is the best choice
Cuisinart may be more expensive but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for.
The parts are easily purchased and they work when they arrive what a bonus!
We first purchased a cheaper brand and it mashed anything you wanted sliced, then a friend recommended the Cuisinart food processor that was ten years ago when we owned a Deli, now as a food manager I wanted to speed up the prep time so I purchased the Cuisinart blade to slice tomatoes. My employees love it.
