Amazon.com Review
This multipurpose thermometer takes the guesswork out of cooking meats and poultry and starting yeast for breads and other baked goods. Its 3-inch face measures temperatures from 105 to 185 degrees F. The face displays a guide for proper meat, poultry, and yeast temperatures. The thermometer is made of stainless steel, has a 3-1/2-inch stem, and is dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

Simply the Best
I have used this Taylor thermometer for years and it is reliable, accurate and easy to use. You can use it in the oven while the meat, casserole, etc. is baking. Other thermometers have a glass insertion rod and can break. The stainless steel Taylor goes in without having to make a hole first with another utensil. For Christmas I gave these thermometers to all my children and my parents who could not find them. My husband cannot grill without this thermometer.
This Taylor Thermometer well worth the $
I had purchased a Taylor thermometer when I moved into my first apartment ,23 years ago, because it was the type my mother had used at home. I had the thermometer about 22 years when it broke. When I tried to find another one it was almost impossible. Finally I found one at Lechters housewares and did they go up in price. Then again, I figured oh well another 22 years....Anyway, I dropped this one just the other day and went back to find Lechter's had closed. So here I am online searching for another. This thermometer is so easy to store because it's flat. I use it whenever I need it to make pizza crust from scratch and for roasts. Unless you need another for making candy (specialty thermometer) you will never need another one. Well worth the money.
Excellent Tool
I have had my Taylor Classic Yeast/Roast Thermometer for about 30 years (to the best of my memory) and find it an excellent tool. It is utterly simple to use and totally dependable. I wash it in the dishwasher and toss it in a drawer to store. It is not fragile; the stainless insertion rod encases the glass, rendering it rather durable. We use it in the Weber grill, in the oven, and anywhere a cooking thermometer is needed.
