Amazon.com Product Description
Tired of shadow boxing but still want to enjoy a vigorous, pain-free boxing workout? Turn to the SlamMan aerobic boxing machine, a computerized trainer that combines the best qualities of a speed bag and heavy bag in a life-size human shape. Wholly original, the SlamMan offers everything you could ask for in a training partner: aerobic conditioning, major muscle toning, and terrific stress relief. The SlamMan's base and torso are made of thick, high-density, reinforced, blow-molded polyethylene that's comparable to the materials you find in the rough and tumble automotive field. In other words, it's built to stand up to heavy hits and hard abuse through the years. The top-quality molded foam striking surface, meanwhile, naturally absorbs blows, with 100 percent memory retention. No matter how many times or how hard he gets hit, the SlamMan will always return to his original shape without wrinkling or splitting.

The SlamMan's training routine is simple: he offers eight illuminated LED targets that light up in various sequences, telling you where to punch. All you have to do is swing away. The SlamMan is also sensitive, with built-in sensors that adjust to your punch strength. Push the sensor down and you'll have to hit harder to activate the lights, creating a more vigorous boxing workout. And when you're ready to cool down, push the sensor the other way. And thanks to the 240 pounds of sand inside the SlamMan, you can hit him in the stomach as hard as you want.

The SlamMan offers no shortage of workout options, with three skill levels (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) and five different boxing programs, creating up to 15 options in all. Plus, the computer not only scores and times your workout, but offers a random mode for boxers wanting a real challenge. In the end, there's no better way to naturally firm up and tone your muscles while improving your stamina, reflexes, and coordination. Other details include molded plastic lenses embedded beneath the foam to protect the LED lights, three adjustable heights (64, 68, and 72 inches), and a pair of professional 12-ounce boxing gloves. The SlamMan weighs a mere 29 pounds and also comes with an instructional video and a low-fat meal plan.

Customer Reviews

Don't waste your money here1
Please read this carefully. I purchased this item a few years ago. What the customer does not realize is that this dummy is not 100% soft material. The black areas are hard PLASTIC! The blue area is not very soft or pliable. The material they used on this product is cheap and inferior. The hard plastic is NOT ACCEPTABLE for a martial arts/fitness training equipment. Yes they provide you with gloves, however, anyone who purchases an item such as this would expect the equipment to be made of appropriate material - which this is not.

GREAT!5
After reading the reviews I knew it I would fill it with water......No problems there. I also put and old sparing helmet on it's head and I have viciously attacked this slamman for the last year with explosive workouts.

Its still like the ay I bought it

Its good but wears out really fast.3
I've purchased two of these and both wore out in less than 6 months each. The first time I purchased slam man was back in 1997 when Sugar ray Leonard did the infomercial. The second time was in 2000. It was the only toroso that simulated a human-like form. Century B.O.B wasn't available during that time. Slam man stands 5 feet and can be adjust as height as 6 feet. Hitting the face (nose area) with 10-14oz gloves can wear it down especially when throwing uppercuts. The nose area begins to break apart until the entire foam on face falls and your'e left with hard black plastic and LED eyes. The electronic LED lights on the face and body are useless. They beep and flash for you to hit them but they don't measure or count your punches. The body part of the slam is the most durable part. I've thrown some power hooks to the body without a tear. The more you fill it with sand or water, the harder it is to move back obviously. The advantage to this is anyone at any weight can fill it accordingly to the weight of their punch. If you're really a heavy hitter and wiegh 190lb+ you can fill it sand and begin unleashing power shots without moving it much. The face and body is stiff so if you add more weight, it it may feel like you're punching a pole instead of dummy because of its stiffness. I burned calories and found myself addictive to hitting this thing for two reasons:

1)It can take some nice body shots
2)It doesn't hit back (like a sparring partner)

I would have given it Five Stars if the foam on face didn't rip apart TWICE.
