Caution!4
These are sure pretty to look at.

I never cook with high flames, like some do in my family. These are not for frying up potatoes, sausages, or scrambled eggs, either.

After purchasing these, I still went to Albertsons and bought that huge non-stick skillet for 16.00.

I just received my set for Christmas so I haven't had it long. I've used a friends Quisinart many years ago and loved them! Have wanted a set since. I was pleasantly surprised when I received my own set and cooked in them right away, loved it! So easy to use.

I came on here to check out some of the reviews since I'm always curious as to what others have to say about certain products. The number one complaint has been burning and sticking, particularly with eggs. I went right back into the kitchen and cooked an egg to see what would happen...it came out perfect, I didn't have to use butter as some have mentioned...I used olive oil and water as I've always done

Perhaps I'm just lucky for having grown up on Amway pans, where I had to learn to cook properly (and clean right) so I wouldn't end up spend the rest of the day scrubbing them. And even then there was no guarantee. If you are one that doesn't like to cook or doesn't have a lot of experience or, are always in a hurry, these pans are not for you!!!

Like most pans you are not supposed to cook on high heat (even t-fal pans state this), there are very few cases in which you would. Not to mention you can't just walk away as if it's a microwave oven. I would venture to bet every person who complained about burning and sticking isn't much of a cook to begin with. No offense, but everyone I know who happens to be a decent cook and owns these types of pans do not have the issues as many of the complainers here.

As far as cleanup, I dunno, I have always soaked my pans right away while still warm off the stove, and then clean them up after dinner. With these pans I soak them in vinegar and hot water and wash them up with a soft washcloth. So far so good.

So what's the trick to frying your food? Let the pan warm up first on medium (yes this means waiting a few moments), when you feel warmth at the bottom of the pan, place a little oil in (it doesn't take a lot) roll the pan around to coat the entire bottom, and then throw your food in. You might have to turn the heat down a notch once the foods in. It should cook just fine as long as you are paying attention to it and not walking away.

As far as the functionality of the pans? If used correctly they cook evenly and beautifully, and clean up quite nice. They feel solid and of good quality, the handles stay cool and the lids tight. They have a modern but timeless look to them which I can appreciate as a designer. I'm sure I will have these for a very long time. I highly recommend these to anyone who actually enjoys cooking.

Husband and I purchased this set as a starter cookware set to go with our new home. We expected it to just "work" and we have been pleasantly surprised with it.

They have some weight but it is balanced and easy to use. Skillets heat quickly and uniformly and clean easily. Sauté pan was easy to handle empty or full. Handles were the only things that did not transfer heat - was really worried when we bought it how he'd crisp his hand - but I would still use a towel to grab handles and lids just-in-case.
