AWESOME!5
This ice shaver does exactly what you'd expect an ice shaver to do - it shaves ICE! It's easy to use, requires no maintenance, is easy to clean and store, and it shaves ice (frozen in provided molds) quickly, and results in a light, fluffy treat! This is a very simple product that works as well, or better than I expected. I'm guessing those with poor experiences have used it in ways that were not intended (e.g. with regular ice cubes, or to shave frozen substances that aren't the same consistency as ice). I don't know how you could be disappointed with this product, if you use it as intended - to shave ICE.

This shaver sucks1
Why do I have to freeze ice to make shaved ice. The description was not that good...

Pretty Disappointing2
The first time we tried this unit we used orange juice, and it worked acceptably, but the result was not nearly as fine as we were hoping for. The second time we used it it didn't work at all. The mixture in the cups was just being spun around instead of being chipped up. It made a huge mess, the sorbet was ruined, and the kids were disappointed to tears.
