Pretty Pathetic 2
Of all the kitchen tools I have purchased in the past few years, this is one of the most worthless.

The strongest point is that it is made of heat proof silicone. Whether you stick it on a hot BBQ grill, blazing hot food straight from the oven, or into a hot pan of molten sugar syrup, it does not melt. Also, it cleans thoroughly and you can get out the smell and flavor of whatever you used it on, even things like strong spice or fish.

The main problem is that the rubber balls hold little sauce or liquid or oil. You have to re-dip so many times to coat something, that it sometimes gets comical. Also, the flow of liquid from the tips splats out all at once the first time it touches anything. Another problem is the metal handle: it gets pretty slippery if your hands are even a little bit oily.

It looks really cool in your tool caddy and for this reason alone it might be worth having (mine is casually tossed into a drawer where you will never see it). Instead, go to the hardware store and get a natural boar bristle brush 1 1/2 or 2 inches; it should only cost you a couple of dollars. After each use, you must diligently wash and dry it. Even so, the bristles tend to permanently cling onto whatever flavors and smells you stick it in. So, I suggest you get a couple, and label one for strong flavors (garlic, BBQ sauce, etc.), and one for mild flavors (pastry, cooked sugar); write the label directly onto the wooden handles with permanent ink.
