Simply place a flour tortilla on the nonstick grill, then add ingredients like shredded cheese, salsa, and shredded or thinly sliced pieces of cooked meat, poultry, or vegetables. Cover with another flour tortilla, and close the lid. For best results, fillings should be spread as evenly as possible, up to a 1/2-inch from the edge of the tortilla so that the edges can seal together. The countertop appliance works great not only for making quesadillas, but also for soft tacos, omelets, fajitas, pancakes, pita-bread sandwiches, and much more. Remove cooked items using a plastic or wooden spatula to help protect the nonstick surface. Excellent Product!!
I could not do without this product. I have made not only Quesadilla's but also pancakes, omlets, sandwiches, and I am still looking at more recipes. It takes only 2 mintues for a thick pancake compared to on a stovetop. My only negative on this unit is that if you use butter it is very messy and hard to cleanup. If this had removeable plates it would be a 5 star in my book. Well worth the $20 I paid for it.

Quesadilla maker too small
Before I purchased this item, I compared it to the Salton Santa Fe quesadilla maker and decided on this one, but now I'm not sure I made the correct decision. According to the reviews I read on the Salton Santa Fe model, the plastic lid is flimsy and breaks easily when applying pressure on the lid to close it with a full quesadilla. The case on the Oster is sturdy, but it only measures 6.5" across. The Salton is 12" across. Almost twice as big and the Salton is also less expensive. We've decided that instead of making one quesadilla and sharing it, we'll make one for each person dining. Still, this could have been larger.

Nice Gadget
I chose this one over the larger Salton model because I live alone and don't need such large portions. The low carb 8 inch tortillas sold at my local grocer fit perfectly. I usally just cut one in half and add my favorite topings (rotiserie chicken and cheese or banana peppers) and grill it up. It works great and doesn't take up a lot of space.
