About the Author
Scott Cohen is the creative force behind The Green Scene, one of the fastest-growing outdoor design and construction firms in the Los Angeles area. Scott's passion for design began as a boyhood fascination with sculpture, drawing, architecture and gardening. At the age of 15, he started his own successful landscape maintenance business and began to self-teach many of the innovative landscaping methods he still uses today-more than two decades later- at The Green Scene. Since Scott took over as President and Supervising Designer in 1995, The Green Scene's volume of business has increased tenfold with no end in sight. That growth can be attributed to Scott's unique approach to creating outdoor resort-style landscape designs that reflect the personalities of the homeowners as well as the attributes of the home and yard. A four-page "Getting-To-Know-You" questionnaire allows Scott to incorporate the hobbies and interests of the homeowners into his designs to give each a truly personalized project. An accomplished ceramicist and sculptor, he specializes in custom-designed tiles and sculptures that add imaginative personal touches to the yard-once even body-casting a client to create a life-like mermaid sculpture for her pool.
