Editorial Reviews
Review
“Tasteful and creative images taken by some of the worlds leading female photographers. Recommended.” -- Library Journal
“The summers most buzzed–about picture book.” -- Playboy
From the Publisher
Christina Aguilera, Rachel Hunter, Jodie Kidd, Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, Macy Gray, Geri Halliwell and Serena Williams to name but a few, discard their designer outfits and strike a pose for the camera. All the pictures are taken by women too, in fact some of the world's best female photographers including Mary McCartney, Sam Taylor-Wood and Ellen von Unwerth. And yes, occasionally you can believe what you read in the tabloids—Sarah Ferguson does indeed appear within these pages, but it's all in the best possible taste and for a very good cause.
Customer Reviews
An enjoyable sexual escapade for a great cause!
Old-fashioned eroticism meets the most beautiful & famous women in the world today. See supermodel Heidi Klum wearing nothing but a smile, high heels, and a cat's mask. Rapper Kelis tied up in her microphone cord with her breasts peeking out. Model/actress Carmen Electra made up as a nude marionette, which is at the same time erotic and disturbing imagery. And if that isn't freaky enough, Nicky Hilton baking in the buff!
Some of the world's best female photographers have really outdone themselves here. It's a classy art book that you can sit out on your coffee table, but the subject matter is attractive to a much wider audience of people.
And it's all for a great cause, the Elton John AIDS Foundation. A great purchase or gift!
Nothing is perfect
I have to say I agree with (most) of the other reviewers that the photos are of excellant quality, the women are beautiful and it's for a good cause. The only slightly disturbing thing is that the amount of skin shown seems to be related to the "accepted" beauty of the model. By that I mean the professional models were all fully naked and obviously quite comfortable being so; while some of the other ladies were photographed covered up (although obviously naked). It would be interesting to know if the model was ill at ease in being naked or the photographers were sub-conciously suggesting a more covered up shot. Either way it's a shame that the likes of Sarah Ferguson was hidden under some sort of blanket rather than uncovered in the true spirit of the book.
All in all and excellent collection.
Great Book
If you are a celebrity buff like me and you love looking at pictures of your favorite celebs wearing jewels and shoes that no common person like myself will ever be able to afford in this lifetime, this book is for you. All the photographs seem to emulate not only a different theme, but style as well. Most are in clear, perfect shape. Others, to add depth or character to the photo, might be a bit blurred or out of focus or foggy. I love photography books, especially when the photographs are of people. I love people. I love to look at their faces and wonder what they were thinking at that moment in time. This book made it perfect for me. Not only can you look at their faces, but, in some cases, their entire bodies. I loved this book so very much.
