Here is an easy-to-use sketching easel that sets up in seconds and is sturdy but lightweight. It is made of Beechwood, a very hard wood. This versatile easel weighs less than 4 lbs. and folds to a convenient and compact 32" length so it can easily be transported for field work. The overall height is 74", the maximum canvas height is 45" and the mimimum canvas height is 25". The canvas supports will accept a canvas as deep as 7/8". An additional feature allows you to position your work horizontally which is useful for painting watercolors. The finish is a beautiful natural color and all hardware including the locking slides are brass plated. The "Venice" design is not only easy-to-use but also a terrific bargain, yet it will give you years of service.

Exactly what I was looking for!
I bought this product for a friend for her birthday, and she couldn't be happier with it. If you're looking for a good, cheap easel, this is the one to buy. It has one setting for a small canvas, and then you flip it around and its capable of holding pretty large canvases.

Quality easel at great price!
Great easel. It's simple but sturdy. No assembly required and easy to adjust for different size canvases. I didn't want to spend a lot on a easel since I'm a newbie to painting, but I got a lot more than I expected! Great purchase.
