Great Headphones
I have owned 2 sets of these headphones, along with various other brands including a pair with noise reduction, and I must say that these are the best headphones I've ever used. I'm sure better headphones exists, but for the price (not necessarily the price on amazon) these headphones can't be beat.
Since they cover the entire ear, light sounds will be cut off without much music volume at all. louder ambient sound will require only a little bit more music volume to negate. The headphones are also quite comfortable to wear, so you can put them on and work away. My first set of headphones wore out in about 3 years (a "friend" wore them for hours and hours for weeks at a time and by the end while they were still usable, I just couldn't wear them anymore, so I bought a new set).
The worst problem is probably the cord, as it's not very flexible (but it is very strudy). I haven't really had any other issues and I expect this set to last for another 5 years or longer.
Would highly recommend. (typical use for me: music via my laptop. Has worked well in a Zune, an iphone, and a DS.)
Comfy, Huge And Be Careful
Let's cut to the quick: I have a 15 dollar Philips SHS5200 headset that delivers the exact same sound. Both deliver a good sound but nothing special. I guess if I was a 5th grader I'd feel cool with these huge monster ear muffs on but there's not much going on here. I'll agree, tho, that as huge as they are, they are lite to wear. But you're not going to want to drop these guys: there's so many vulnerable plastic connections they're not going to survive a four foot drop to the floor.
Take my word for it.......
I have now owned these headphones for a year, and I grow happier with them the longer I have them. I use them on a daily basis, they get dropped on occasion, as I am fairly hard my electronics, and they still work fine. They also look in excellent condition, (no tears, no obvious wear) other than being a little scratched up. The comfort and sound quality, you cannot match for a $15-$25 set. I couldn't even find a match in the $50-$75 range. If you want to throw money around to try finding a better set for $80-$100, i'm sure they are out there, so look elsewhere, but if you want a quality pair you will be happy with (these are not junk), and not have to keep throwing good money after bad, then take my word for it........
I am a very frugal person, and for the price that these headphones are being offered for lately, they are sure to suprise you, that is if you have any experience with headphones at all.
