Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, the first for the males at age 13, the second for the females at age 12 (or 13 amongst the Refom), celebrates the Jewish Rite of Passage from childhood to Adult status. Traditionally, the Bar & Bat mitzvah kids accept spiritual and moral responsibility at this defining age.
