Great hikes, well organized
I've been on about half the hikes in this book. The driving and trail directions are clear, there's good maps to see where the hikes are. I think it's great to be able to pull it off the shelf, hop in the car or on the bike, and check out next the hike in the book. It's such a beautiful area, you can't go wrong. Definately recommended if you live around Monterey!
Great Maps
I'm a local and use this book constantly. The trails are simple to understand and are well-detailed/labeled. I sell this book at my place of work and recommend it to anyone who is visiting the area and wants a book of great hikes. As well as concentrating on the main parks in the area, the book focuses on smaller, out-of-the-way areas tourists might miss otherwise. My favorite is the Frog Pond!
