Album Description
Swiss power-grinders MUMAKIL (ex-KNUT, NOSTROMO) lay down the anti-law with their blitzkrieg Relapse debut Behold the Failure. A truly vicious attack, Behold the Failure detonates 27 lightning-fast firebombs of grinding metal with all the subtlety and remorse of a suicide bomber. Matching that intensity is a lyrical assault that burns and seethes with anti-authoritarian hatred and disgust. Behold The Failure fuses the political angst and frustration of hardcore-punk's heyday with some of the most over the top, punishing grind this side of the 21st century.

BLASTCORE TO THE MAX!!!!
On Mumakil's sophmore follow-up to their fantastic Customized Warfare have they slown down?? No way. In fact they have sped up a bit. The album is probably one of the most extreme pieces of music that will be released in '09. They call themselves Blastcore. Blastcore, Grindcore, Crushcore, whatever you want to call it, this is straight up grind. Very rarely do they ever slow down, which I feel is a bit of a downfall when compared to their predecessor. I really love customized warfare. It was pure grind, but track #15 was a slow song, that was so heavy it could make your house fall down, gave you a little breather before #16 came on and grinded you into bones again. I also felt that the first release had more memorable riffs, not that this one doesn't, it's just that Behold the Failure is grind from beginning to end with no let up. The piq squeals, which were amazing on the first cd are only on 2 tracks on this one and are towards the end of the cd. This is somehow turning into more of a negative review than I wanted it too, sorry-so while I prefer their first cd to this in a nutshell this cd still rages, crushes and destroys everything in it's path. Super heavy, grinds and the production is top notch. I am happy for them that they're on Relapse-it will open more doors for them. Fans of Napalm Death, Nasum, Terrorizer, Pig Destroyer take special notice of this band, so that you can add them to your collection.
