A dynamic and revelatory collection from the legendary extreme sports star—and tattoo aficionado—Carey Hart.
Freestyle motocross champ Carey Hart is a heavily tattooed celebrity, whose studio, Hart & Huntington Tattoo in Las Vegas, was featured on A&E's hit reality series Inked. The shop caters to rock stars, celebrity VIPs, locals, and tourists, who all clamor for Hart & Huntington's original and irreverent tattoos. Carey now brings this unique mix of attitude and beauty to Inked, which features 75 evocative portraits that confound and surprise. There are photos of seemingly ordinary people—businessmen, schoolteachers, and mothers—in their everyday dress juxtaposed with images that unveil their elaborate tattoos. There are also hip and sultry photos of tattooed Las Vegas starlets and rockers, plus enthusiasts of all shapes and ages. Personal stories of first tattoos, design inspirations, the process, and the joys and regrets that accompany skin art, as well as an introduction and history of the tattoo by Carey, combine to form an exciting tapestry of what tattoos mean today. Packed from head to toe with Las Vegas glamor and edge, Inked is illuminating and provocative, with more substance and style than anything else in the category.

Customer Reviews
Good book, but not what you think it is...
This book was a delight. The photographs are phenomenal and are well-shot; the stories are good. The text is readable, and there are nice vignettes about the art of tattooing - though it sounds like it would be more for tattoo artists in that respect.
A disappointment was how many of the people involved were actually involved with Hart and Huntington studios - virtually all of them - either as customer or more likely, as employee. Virtually none have what would be called a "mainstream" or corporate job (the limosine driver comes closest).
This book is more of a pictoral view of the best Hart and Huntington has to offer than it is a collection of stories of a slice of tattooed America.
It is still worth getting - even though the slice of people represented sound narrow, they all have quite varied stories to tell, though not terribly in depth.
This is an excellent book - just not a collection of stories of mainstream America and their tattoos.

this book is so interesting for all those interested in tattoos and their history..
Also if your a Carey Hart fan like me you'll love all the pictures of him..
Great book..love it
Not worth the cost
I love tattoos and have many, so hearing about individuals and their reasons for getting them peaked my interest. Unfortunately, almost all of the "individuals" included are tattoo artists. Hardly a broad spectrum of people with tattoos.
Wouldn't recommend it.
