Product Description

The OT record shows God's dealing with his people time and again in the form of a covenant. William Dumbrell demonstrates God's developing relationship with his people and concludes that after the exile, Israel's understanding of her relationship with God demanded nothing short of a new covenant and a new creation to achieve his purpose.

Customer Reviews

A readers feast5
Dumbrell's work on the convenant and its development through the Older Testament is thoughtful, thorough and packed with rich insights at every turn. One cannot but be helped and stimulated by his exegetical treatment of text after text. He admirably succeeds in showing how the covenant flows out of God's creative acts, develops in history, anticipates and leads on to the new covenant and awaits its climax in the eschaton. Some books are worthy of consideration others of study- Dumbrell's work clearly belongs to the latter class.
