The Kuhn Rikon Duromatic pressure cooker is unique from all other pressure cookers in that it has a double walled pot which acts as a thermal barrier to keep and retain the heat inside. The food cooked inside will stay hot for hours even after the cooker is removed from the heat source.

Keeping water hot can be as useful as keeping food hot and these airpots will keep water hot for 24 hours.

For single servings these small cookers can do fine but understand that the mass of the food inside directly relates to how much heat it can retain. The smaller sizes have less mass to use to retain heat so you can have problems keeping foods hot enough to cook.

Thermal Cooking isn't new and here's a cook book that has hundreds of recipes for the "Fireless Cooker" of the early 1900's.

I include this item in the list not to recommend it but to point out that all thermal cookers aren't made and perform the same. This cooker uses a foam core for the outer pot instead of a vacuum insulated core and the performance just doesn't compare. A thermal cooker must be able to keep the heat inside the pot or it just won't stay hot enough to cook the food.
