From Library Journal
Teilhard de Chardin said, "We are spiritual beings having a human experience." Chopra builds on this powerful thought in this recording that expands his life's work in spiritual approaches to daily living. He explains the laws of pure potentiality, giving, karma, least effort, intention and desire, detachment, and dharma and includes useful suggestions on how to apply these fundamental, natural principles if one is truly searching for purpose and a satisfying life. Ancient Vedic concepts form the basis of this philosophy of living that transcends the Eurocentric theological dogma that seems to preoccupy Western thought, especially among Americans. With Chopra's rapidly growing adherents and his appearance on the glib talk shows, look for this new release to attract attention. The recording, read by the author, is also available in book form (Amber-Allen Pub., 1995), which may appeal to those listeners willing to do the hard work required to successfully implement these principles. For all public libraries.?Dale Farris, Groves, Tex.

A 'must read' for the legions of Deepak Chopra fans
Deepak Chopra is a well known and respected authority in the fields of holistic health and human potential. His latest book is "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success", a pocket-sized little volume of 'powerful pearls of wisdom' that provides the reader with a life-altering perspective on the attainment of success in the modern world. Challenging the myth that success if the result of hard work, exacting plans, or driving ambition, Chopra bases his observations and commentaries on the natural laws governing creation. The result is distilled into seven simple, powerful, universal principles that can be readily applied by ordinary people to create success in all the varied areas of their lives. A 'must read' for the legions of Deepak Chopra fans, "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" is very highly recommended for self-help, self-improvement, and human spirituality reading lists.
Disappointed in book and DVD
The book and DVD on the same subject or too vague.
I really wanted my money back. He may have other books
I'm sorry at least for this reading I was bored.
The book was in riddles, and the DVD was boring, I
kept looking for this earth shattering discovery which
never came. At the end, it was like..."that was it?"
The book was written in riddles. I know people like Deepak
very much, but at least for me...he offered me absolutely
nothing new. The seven spiritual laws for me were absolutely plain
common sense nothing new. Perhaps my expectations were too high for his book
and DVD.
Hope this helps.
An Idea That Did Not Need to Happen
When I purchased this book, I thought it was simply a new edition of the original book of the same title. After all, why would it be necessary to "ABRIDGE" a 111-page book? Anyway, I ordered 12 copies of it as I was using it for a class. Only too late did I discover it was a shortened version of the original masterpiece (and Amazon would not exchange it for what I wanted). I suppose the book was reissued in this format as part of a new marketing effort associated with the DVD movie of the same name.
Whatever the reason, there is no need to buy this instead of the original title --which is a jewel for anyone's library!
