The Stanley 35-Foot-by-1-1/4-Inch FatMax Tape Rule is reinforced on the first six feet with BladeArmor coating for maximum durability. A Mylar polyester film extends the life of the entire blade and a stainless steel wearplate protects the case from being cut by a blade. This tape rule comes with a cushion grip built into its ergonomic case for a non-slip grip and impact resistance. The Stanley Story
The Stanley Works, originally a bolt and door hardware manufacturing company located in New Britain, Connecticut; was founded in 1843 by Frederick T. Stanley. Great readable tape--sturdy!
This tape is a monster for the toolbelt and I keep it in an unused nail pouch due to its width. Besides that I couldn't be happier. It is long enough for framing layout and its 11' standout makes it indespensible for working alone or on a ladder. All three sizes of the FatMax have the 11' foot standout which is the dealmaker. Get the size best for your purposes. The width makes it stable even in winds on the roof working by myself. Nice wide tape with very clear scale to read without bending over. Definitely a wise purchase for the experienced framer or the weekend warrior. Be sure to slow the tape upon reeling it in as the speed it can come back at can do damage to the tape long-term not to mention any wondering fingers that get pinched in the end motion. Great tape and will do it again if this one ever wears out! Buy this tape!

Pretty good tape measure
I am not a contractor or professional builder, have always done my own remodeling and basic wood working projects. After I retired we decided to build a large home that would be our dream home and a source of income as a Bed and Breakfast. I knew this project would take 12-18 months and I already had most of the needed tools. Several months into the job and seveal tapes later I was looking for a durable tape, my biggest issue is the wind blowing the tape as I tried to stretch it out for a measurement. Building alone, I became very frustrated as most tapes were blown over/away from the intended anchor point. Despite the size, it really fits the bill and has helped the frustration meter go way down. I only gave it 4 vs 5 stars as occasionally the tab on the end slips off the end of the board as you pull out to length. Thanks Amazon for good prices and quick, fair shipping with Prime.
