Marked is the first book in the house of night series. These were different because in the series humans were fully aware of all the vampires around them, and some humans even accepted them in normal society. There's lots of "high school" type drama involved but its very addicting and enjoyable.

This is the conclusion to the Vampire Diaries Series. It was one of the greatest endings I think I've ever read in a book. I even had tears going. [Warning: Bitter-Sweet End]

New Moon, the sequel to Twilight, is a bit heartbreaking for Edward Cullen fans but gives us a chance to see a whole other side of Jacob...and to also discover his secret. Its a great sequel and by its end Edward comes back. Great for Bella, Not so great for Jacob.

Private is much more than your average boarding school, rich girl drama. Every book is amazingly rich with surprises, suspense, and mystery. Not to mention murder. This is the first book in the series but there are several others, nine in fact and the series still isn't quite completed.

Uglies is a modern day Farenheit 451 thats thouroughly detailed and deals with a lot of "almost" possibly scenarios for future here on Earth. It starts slow but the story is truly a great adventure.

Specials the last in the Uglies Trilogy [I know theres the spin off called Extras but its pretty much with completely different characters so i dont count it]is action packed and full of surprises and heartbreak. The ending is fantastic though and it's a book I'd definitely love to see as a movie someday.

I first read this book when I was 12 years old and now, 7 years later, I still love it to pieces. Quick read, but great mixture of romance and magic.

City of Bones is the first in the Mortal Instruments series, and is one of the greatest books I've ever read. The world Clare paints is believable and the romance between Clary and Jace is real and unlike most books. The end is a major cliff hanger, so you'll want the second book "city of ashes" right next to you when you finish!

The Morganville Vampire series started off very slow and was immaturely written, but there were moments toward the end that made the book absolutely worth reading. This book sets up for the rest of the series, and the books that follow are complex and addicting.

Dark Secrets has two great mystery, suspense reads all in one. Of course there's a touch of romance [i can't survive a book without that element], but mainly they focus on dark family secrets. Short but excellent.
