Amazon.com Review
A good table saw comes with a perfectly good miter gauge. But this Incra is perfectly great. It’s precise, versatile, infinitely adjustable and custom-fits to your miter gauge slot.
You’re probably familiar with the Incra name because of their fantastic dovetail and box-joint-making jigs, but they’ve got a wide product line all with precision at the top of the list.
An ingenious flip-stop locks down at any point along the fence for repeatable cuts, and it flips out of the way without disturbing your placement if you have other cuts to make as well. The fence actually telescopes out, from a closed length of 18 inches to a fully extended 30 inches for superior stock stability. The miter gauge itself has 41 detents in 5-degree increments across the entire 180 degrees, with special stops at 22-1/2 and 67-1/2 degrees, all gauged by angle indexing teeth for unparalleled accuracy. In addition, you can make 1/10th-degree adjustments with the stainless steel vernier cursor.
The thing we like best about this jig is its ability to custom fit to your miter gauge groove, courtesy of six disks along the length of the slot bar. With a turn of an allen wrench, each one expands or contracts individually to get you the absolute best fit on your table, leaving you with zero play between bar and channel and zero chance for error. Incra’s also designed a neat top-mounted tab that fits a T-slot and removes in a few second for plain channels, letting you move the jig from your T-slotted table saw to other tools with a standard groove, such as a router table.
We’re pretty taken with this setup, and we think anyone who craves precision will love it, too.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste
From the Manufacturer
The Miter 1000 Special Edition builds on the excellent foundation provided by the Miter 1000. The Incra exclusive AngleLOCK Indexing System delivers 41 lock solid angle stops in 5° increments over a full 180° range. Combine this with the included GlideLOCK Miter Bar, Telescoping IncraLOCK Cuto-off Fence and the Incra Flip Shop Stop, and you'll easily achieve mitering accuracy that you never thought possible. Whether it's your basic 90° cut-off, simple picture frames, or a 20-sided object, the Miter1000SE by Incra deiivers perfect, repeatable accuracy.... First time, Every time, Any angle. Six expansion disks adjust both sides of the bar for ZERO side play, anti-friction travel on all table saws with standard 3/4" x 3/8" or near-standard miter gauge channels, including Delta, Craftsman, imports, etc. This means that all of INCRA's incredible precision will actually show up in your work because the bar CAN'T wiggle around in the miter slot. This Special Edition Miter Fence telescopes from 18" to a full 31" length. Includes the Dual Flip Shop Stop and Incra's patented Automatic Positioning Control. Precision angle indexing teeth are laser cut in solid steel to lock in positive angle stops every 5 degrees over a 180 degrees range, with special stops at 22-1/2 degrees and 67-1/2 degrees. A stainless steel vernier cursor delivers an incredible 1/10th degree resolution between fixed steps.

Glad I Got It!
Got the Incra Miter 1000SE a couple weeks ago (thanks to an Amazon sale price) and have nothing but praise for it so far. It was dead on right out of the box, although adjustments should be easy if ever necessary. There was very little assembly required, and Incra makes sure you have all the parts necessary (and then some...they threw in extra screws and other bits and pieces). One thing the Incra fence has that I've not seen on any of the others is the Incra "teeth" that engage the sliding stop. Very, very repeatable, and with the micro adjust screw, very adjustable, so you can get anywhere between the 1/32" teeth.
Even though the stock gauge that came with my table saw has "stops" at 90 and 45 degrees, it was never trustworthy, so I had to check it each time I used it. I really like being able to set the Incra miter gauge at 45 degrees (or any other setting) and using it confidently without first checking to be sure the angle is right.
The gauge seems rock solid. I've seen no flex issues. The bent sheet metal aspect of the gauge head is very substantial (IMHO) and I've not seen any evidence of flex with the fence extenced out. Granted, if I grab the extended fence and try to slide the saw sideways across the shop, it'll flex some, but I've not seen any flex in normal, reasonable use.
I found it useful to add a piece of scrap 3/4" material for a sacrificial fence extension, but Incra includes the necessary screws, and the sliding stop can be quickly adjusted to accomodate the additional fence thickness.
All in all, it's a well thought out and nicely executed product.
Finally, accurate miters from my table saw!
I had used the factory miter gauge that came with my Ridgid TS2400 table saw on a few projects and even after saw and miter gauge calibration I was still coming up with inaccurate miters. I decided it was time to buy a new miter gauge. I was researching miter gauges and had narrowed it down to the Osborne EB-3 and the Incra Miter 1000-SE. The Osborne had a number of disappointing reviews so I decided on the Incra. I could not be happier with my purchase. Setup took around a half an hour and was very easy. Within an hour I had already put the miter gauge to the ultimate test and had cut and assembled an octagon out of some scrap wood. The octagon came out perfect proving the miter gauge was set up correctly and that it is dead accurate. The only complaint I have is in order to make adjustments to the fence you have to use the tool Incra provides (I guess I could replace their screws). Other than that, I absolutely love the Incra Miter 1000-SE and can see myself now using my table saw more for miters rather than my chop saw.
lots of adjustments you must play with
The Incra does have a lot going for it. In its price range, it is much better than the Kreg. It is not as nice as the Jessem but then your not paying the big Jessem price.
I am not that crazy about the split nylon washers they use to take the slop out of the table slot. I had to play with that a good while but when you get it right it feels pretty good.
we'll see how long it holds up without readjusting. The other thing the bugs me is the "erector set" way you have to shim, adjust, readjust, all kinds of things. I dont want to spend time doing these things, just make my cuts and get on with my project. The instructions do get a bit confusing too. When you get it all set up it does do a nice job and the quality is very good. I looked long and hard at many models and this one is the best all around without spending more than what your tablesaw might have cost.
