Beautiful pen for a beautiful friend
I bought this pen for a friend of mine who was diagnosed with breast cancer almost 5 years ago. As a matter of fact on April 15th she will have her big 5 year check up. Everything has been good these last couple of years so I am praying things will remain so. My friend almost died of breast cancer several times. Let me rephrase that, she almost died of the treatment for breast cancer. She had several life threatening infections because she had no immunity with which to fight and two different times she had to have her blood completely replaced. Through this whole thing I do not think I ever saw her really down. She was the same old goofy girl. She wore wigs for awhile and then decided to wear scarfs because they made her look "mysterious and brooding like a gypsy". She discovered she had breast cancer just one week before her son's first birthday (my birthday also) and she was not able to have his big party because she was already sick. This still bothers her to this day. Not the fact that she almost died several times but the fact that she did not get to give her little boy a big first birthday party. I admire her and and often do not know how to tell her so I do it in small ways, play with her son when she is on the phone, ride around with her when she just wants to talk, buy her son his favorite candy and when I can I buy her these mementos of my love for her. Its not much but its a very nice way to tell a woman going through the stages or to tell a survivor that you are thinking of them. By the way, the pen is beautiful, it is pretty heavy and looks very expensive. It writes very well. Worth way more than what I paid.

Beautiful Pen
This is a beautiful pen that is well made on the outside. It is just gorgeous and durable. I bought my first one several years ago and still doesn't look worn. I bought a box recently and I give the pens away. People look at them and immediately think I spent boat loads of money on them. haha

These pens work well at first, but develop intermittent problems. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. If you're on the phone with someone, be sure to have another pen handy. Another problem with this pen is that you can't open it up and put a refill in there when it quits. Why would someone want to throw away such a beautiful pen once it is no longer useful? But if you didn't throw it away, what would you do with it?

I just love this pen, but I hope they come out with a better working and more practical one in the near future.
