Was expecting better2
These are very pretty coming out of the box, a lovely burnt wine-stain. Very long handles, which is nice for deep pots. However, the color is really just painted on, as I found that with very normal use in deglazing pans and such, the end of my flat spatula starting chipping off and revealing the wood underneath. Not only am I a bit concerned about the safety of the color agent, I'm worried about possible splinters. Seductive pricing, but I wouldn't buy these again.

No problems. *EDITED*4
... yet. I haven't had these very long, but I'm still eager to review them. They're beautiful and feel sturdy while in use. I feel safe using my stainless steel cookware and they're very elegant looking. I take pretty good care of them (quickly washing and drying, coating with mineral oil occasionally, etc) and they seem like they'll last me a very long time. Although, this is coming from a person who previously owned $1.00 wooden tools from Walmart. So, compared to that, these are a great investment!

** EDIT **

I have had these for several months now, using them every single day. I use them for salads, stirring soups and rice, sauteeing vegetables, and browning meat. Unlike other reviews, I have NOT had any trouble with chipping - even with heavy usage. I have even submerged them in soapy hot water for several hours a few times (oops!) without damage. Every few months, I coat my wooden kitchen utensils in mineral oil, which I assume has helped with wear and tear, but before using the mineral oil on these pieces, they did NOT show dryness or cracking at all.

I absolutely adore these and with my cookware, could not imagine what I would do without them. They are amazing!

Not bad for ten bucks3
These tools are fine, given the price. But they're splintery and chip easily, and are too long and therefore unwieldy. I guess you get what you pay for.
