Product Description

Sign of the Anasazi is an action-packed mystery which suggests a link between the aliens encountered in the Roswell Incident and the lost tribe of the Anasazi, which seemingly, disappeared without any trace in the early days of the last millennium.

When Dr. Marcus Aaron, a brilliant linguist, steals an alien shuttle from the U.S. government, it triggers a series of events that could potentially threaten the entire universe.

In this riveting novel, author Marc Lieberman weaves an action-packed tale of supernatural suspense firmly rooted in the enchanted lands of New Mexico. As Dr. Aaron deciphers an alien language and begins using their technology here on earth, a renegade FBI agent kidnaps his grandchildren and does everything in his power to recapture the stolen alien property. With the help of a former Navy SEAL, a good-hearted internist, and a couple of grizzly bears, Dr. Aaron and his daughter visit an underground empire inhabited by the lost tribe of the Anasazi as they struggle to save their family and escape to the far reaches of the galaxy. Combining modern science, mystical intrigue, and the wisdom of the ancients, Sign of the Anasazi is fast-paced adventure on a mythic scale.

Action packed SciFi mystery5
Reviewed by Paige Lovitt for Reader Views (4/09)

"Sign of the Anasazi" begins after a linguist, Dr. Marcus Aaron, steals an alien spaceship that was being held by the United States military. The government is greatly distressed about this theft. The technology in this ship could allow the United States to have world domination. This was a huge fear held by Marcus. In an attempt to retrieve both the spaceship and Dr. Aaron's knowledge of the alien language, an evil FBI agent kidnaps his grandchildren.

Planning to return to earth, Dr. Aaron sends his daughter clues of his return hidden in objects containing the alien technology. The FBI wants this information. The adventure continues when other interesting and eccentric characters such as FBI agent Dov Bar Lev get involved to help her. There are also some great scenes involving some grizzly bear pets owned by a colorful character named Old Vic; adding this to the alien story and the discovery of a lost Indian tribe, make for a great adventure.

I was immediately drawn to "Sign of the Anasazi" as soon as I saw the beautiful and intriguing cover of the book. When I began reading, I was immediately hooked on the story. Combining interesting characters, alien technology, and linking the Anasazi history with the Roswell incident also made this book my kind of science fiction/mystery novel. Having an interest in the Anasazi and having been to places where they have lived and left behind signs of their existence, I truly the alternative history aspect of the story fascinating.

Mark Lieberman has a fantastic imagination. In this book, "Sign of the Anasazi," he created a truly unique story that many readers will find to be a refreshing change of pace. I cannot wait to read the next novel in his Dov Bar Lev series.

Sign Of The Anasazi5
It's been a long time since I've read a good science fiction piece that's set in the present day and is still believable. I really enjoyed this author's first offering. He has assembled a large cast of characters, each of them interesting in themselves and certainly intrinsic to his tale. He has conjured up a really fast read with several parallel stories going on at the same time. Stories that switch from location to location fluidly. Wherever he takes us, on Earth, within its recesses, or into deep space, the reader is in very capable hands.

Sign of the Anasazi3
Sign of the Anasazi by Marc Lieberman is a mix of Roswell science fiction and desert history. Action and family. Lieberman has woven all of this together in a surprising but seamless manner.
Dov Bar Lev is an FBI agent. Keenan Darstow is also an agent whose "rogueness" is established fairly early on in the story. Mariah, Brittany and Jacob are a family used as pawns in a one-sided game. Andrew Sawyer is a journalist with a tabloid looking for the next big thing. Thomas Kuzmic is a PI friend of Dov's. And Dr. Marcus Aaron, Mariah's missing father, is in the middle of it all.
Apparently Dr. Aaron has taken a spaceship and Keenan Darstow is determined to get it back and be a "hero". And some more power wouldn't hurt, either. He uses the family as a pawn by kidnapping the children and basically holding Mariah hostage in an effort to get Dr. Aaron to return the ship. For reasons of his own, Dr. Aaron needs this ship. So how to save his family, keep the ship and get rid of the bad guys? Quite the adventure.
The joining of Agent Bar Lev, Thomas, a man named Old Vic and his two bears Waldo and Boris, forms an unexpected but formidable team in its way. Along the way they get to Jacob and Dr. Aaron and at some point Mariah. Also helping are Andrew and an old friend of Dr. Aaron's, Trixie. Throw in ingenuity, intelligence, and some albino Anasazi Indians and you have people who will save the world.
I wasn't sure what to expect of this book, but it certainly wasn't this. It will grow on you page by page as you unravel mysteries and the human psyche along with the characters. Each person in this book is on their own personal journey, sometimes learning surprising things about themselves and sometimes learning surprising things about some of the greatest mysteries.
This has made me quite interested in any other Dov Bar Lev mysteries. He's a very engaging character and I can't wait to see what comes to him next.
