Amazon.com Product Description
Add a graceful complement to your most stylish couture with the silver-tone Citizen Eco-Drive Silhouette Bangle stainless steel women's watch. This thin profile watch will sit demurely and lightly on your wrist, and it features Swarovski crystals encrusted into the rectangular bezel as well as the bangle-style band. It has a spare black dial that's accented by thin silver stick half-hour markers and tiny hands. Other features include a jewelry clasp, water resistance to 30 meters (99 feet), and a scratch resistant mineral crystal with anti-reflective coating.

This watch is powered by Citizen's unique Eco-Drive, which absorbs sunlight and any artificial light through the crystal and dial to recharge the watch continuously. With regular exposure to light, the Eco-Drive continuously recharges itself for a lifetime of use. This watch's Eco-Drive provides a 240-day power reserve, and it can be recharged with just 3 hours of exposure to light.

The Citizen Watch Brand

The company was established in 1924. The founding fathers selected the name Citizen so it would be "Close to the Hearts of People Everywhere" and soon after adopted the company’s formal name, Citizen Watch Company.

During the last seventy-five years Citizen has expanded its business throughout the world and has achieved recognition as the global brand. The past twenty-five year period has coincided with the company’s dramatic rise to its current position as the world’s largest watchmaker, a distinction Citizen has held every year since 1986.

Beyond sheer size, Citizen is also recognized as a worldwide leader in advanced technology. From the world’s slimmest LCD watch to the first voice recognition watch and the world’s first professional dive watch with an electronic depth sensor, Citizen’s record of "world’s firsts" is unmatched.

More recently, Citizen has staked out a new position as the leader in Ecologically Friendly timekeeping with its Eco-Drives watches that are light powered. With models ranging from dress models to sports models to professional dive watches, Citizen Eco-Drive runs continuously in any kind of natural or artificial light for a lifetime of use. Fueled by light, it never needs a battery.

Eco-Drive Frequently Asked Questions (See the full Citizen Eco-Drive FAQ here)

How can you tell if the Eco-Drive watch is getting enough light?
In normal use, the watch displays the time and the sweep-second hand moves in one second intervals. A very important feature of Eco-Drive is the Low Charge Warning Mode which as a result of low battery voltage, causes the second hand to jump two seconds at a time (while still keeping correct time).

How long will an Eco-Drive watch run after it is fully charged?
If your watch is put away where no light is available to it while in a fully charged state, depending on the model, it will run for from 45 days to 5 years.

How can the Eco-Drive watch be recharged?
Besides sunlight, it can be safely charged by exposing it to a fluorescent desk lamp, with the dial (face) up and within about 8 inches or an incandescent lamp (regular light bulb) no closer than 20 inches. Never use a halogen lamp since the heat generated by it can cause damage to your watch. The most efficient and the quickest is in direct bright sunlight (not windowsill) and never on the dashboard of a car.

Incorrect specifications--Watch is NOT stainless steel2
I recently purchased this watch from Amazon. It is a beautiful watch to look at (I would rate it 5 stars based on appearance); however, the specifications listed for this watch are incorrect. It is indicated that the case, band and bezel materials are stainless steel. The back of the watch has the words "base metal" stamped into it. This surprised me, as base metal is generally used in what would be considered "cheap", or costume, jewelry. Some base metals are iron, copper, nickel, lead or zinc. They can corrode easily and cause skin irritation. I contacted Amazon about my concern, and they suggested I contact Citizen directly at 1-800-321-1023. I called Citizen, and they confirmed that according to their specifications, the watch material, including the band and caseback, is indeed base metal. Since their own website also advertises the watch as being stainless steel, they said they would have to change this error. I took the watch to a local jeweler who was selling this watch, and he was also under the impression that it was stainless steel, and was very surprised to hear that a watch of this price, and from this manufacturer, was actually made from base metal. So just be aware that if you have any kind of skin sensitivities, or are concerned about your watch potentially corroding, this may be something to consider before making the decision to purchase, especially at this price. I haven't had the watch long enough to report on any personal experiences with it as yet (I have only worn it once, for a brief period of time). But I am disappointed, and likely would not have purchased it had I been correctly informed as to the actual materials.

just what she wanted5
I bought this for my wife for Christmas. She was delighted. I have bought her Citizen watches before. They produce a quality watch at a decent price. This one is beautiful with it's black face and diamond surround. I recommend any citizen watch.

Elegant Watch for a Reasonable Price4
I just bought this watch and I am quite happy with it. It has a nice look and feel to it, without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this watch and this brand. This is my second Citizen Eco Drive watch.
