Great deal4
This is a great deal for anyone on a budget. While the AMD Athlon doesn't have the performance of an intel, it doesn't carry the bloated price tag of an intel either.
The 1024MB of RAM is upgradable to 4gbs, so there is plenty of room to build up as you go along.
The 160GB hard drive may not be large enough for users who have lots of mp3s, but it is plenty of space for the casual users.
The only complaints I have about it are:

1. Windows Vista. If you're new to windows vista (like me) then you'll either have to give yourself plenty of time to acclimate to the new OS, or down grade to another version. Either way it's still a windows. :(

2. Unrelated to the product its self. Shipping and delivery. I chose 'next day delivery' with my order...BIG mistake. This makes the second time in a row I've had to call Amazon customer service about an order being late/not showing up at all.

Basic Entry Level windoZe PC4
I bought this PC for a friend based on name brand and low price. While not an Intel CPU and only having 1 gig of RAM, this box is perfect for a budget user who want access to the Internet primarily for Email and browsing. It will get the job done. I added another Gig of RAM to help windoZe Vista to run faster/smoother, ran the Decrapifier to rid it of the commercial bloated software that is crammed into these name brand computers now a days, added a firewall and off it went. Great box for a spare also.

This pc is great!5
I haven't bought a new computer since I got my first one 9 years ago. It was a Compaq Presario too, and it was always very reliable. So I trusted the brand name, and I wanted another one and Compaq's are very good bang-for-your-buck pcs. The SR5505F is very fast and dependable, and it may not have all of the features that a serious video-gamer needs, but that's okay because I'm not into video games at all. I just like to surf the net and shop online, etc. and for that it's more than enough computer-power for me.

I just added another gigabyte of RAM and now it's even more fast and reliable, and it has a great price, too.
