Amazon.com Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description This affordable pack of consumables contains everything you need to get started with your Epson PictureMate printer. Designed to provide truly borderless photos, each sheet of paper is free of perforations and measures 4 by 6 inches.

Prints That Last and Stay Beautiful
Original print (left), then a spill-and-wipe test on leading glossy and semi-gloss papers (two middle) and on PictureMate (right)
The glossy finish provides a look and feel just like professionally printed photos. The six-color ink cartridge provides rich depth of tone along with resistance to water, fading, and annoying smudges.

The longevity is outstanding. According to Epson, when you store your photos in archival pages, you can expect them to retain their shading for up to 200 years, or up to 100 years when displayed under glass indoors. Each cartridge yields approximately 100 photos; the exact amount may vary. The pack is backed by a satisfaction guarantee provided by Epson.

From the Manufacturer
Exclusively for use with the PictureMate Personal Photo Lab, the PictureMate Print Pack includes both the photo cartridge and 100 sheets of glossy 4-by-6-inch PictureMate photo paper for brilliant, durable, and affordable prints.

Features:

  • Water and fade resistant photos for worry-free handling
  • As affordable as the lab and about half the cost of prints from other 4-by-6 photo printers
  • Print life up to 200 years in photo album conditions
With PictureMate, displayed photos resist fading as much as 2 to 4 times longer than the leading brands of photo lab prints and as much as 4 to 20 times longer than other dedicated 4-by-6-inch printers. Using the PictureMate cartridge and PictureMate paper, prints are predicted to last up to 200 years in archival sleeves in album storage and up to 100 years in a glass frame in indoor display conditions. Customer Reviews

Top Tier Product Once You Get the Hang5
I Agree with "Great Prints", PictureMate produces top quality prints at about half the price of its competitors. Look at the price of the refill packs for the competition and pay attention to the number of prints per box, you will find that they cost between 50 and 60 cents per prints. That is where your true cost, and true savings accrue. PictureMate is 29 cents per print. The quality, as always from Epson is Outstanding. One thing that I noticed is that the default setting causes a photo to print in 8 to 9 minutes. If you go into the Print Settings and uncheck the "Enhance Fine Details" Checkbox, the PictureMate will produce a fantastic, beautiful, and durable print in about 2 to 3 minutes, which is acceptable.

In response to another reviewer about selecting prints, I agree that it is not easy to select prints when printing from card, I either remember the number or you can use most cameras to mark images for printing in camera. I too print from computer and this is definitely the way to go.

WARNING! Not for PictureMate Pal, Snap, or Flash1
This print pack MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE with the PictureMate 200 series printers. If you have a PictureMate Pal, Snap, or Flash printer, you should order EITHER T5846 for 150 glossy prints OR the T5845-M for 100 matte prints.

If the box does not specifically say that it is for PictureMate Series 200 printers (Pal, Snap, and Flash) such as the T5846 or T5845-M packs - DON'T BUY IT! You will end up with the wrong size cartridge. T5570, T5570-M, and "270" cartridges are not compatible with the PictureMate 200 series.

For 150 glossy prints, stick to T5846, such as:
* T5846 ASIN-B000IT4O0A
* T5846 ASIN-B000KJBRK8
* T5846 ASIN-B000JMFVY4
* T5846 ASIN-B000MFJOZU
* T5846 ASIN-B000L9MES6
* T5846 ASIN-B000NZRJFQ

For 100 matte prints, stick to T5845-M, such as:
* T5845-M ASIN-B000IT4O0U
* T5845-M ASIN-B000LDRJS2
* T5845-M ASIN-B000JMHV38
* T5845-M ASIN-B000OCMVLU

The low rating isn't so much a reflection on the product as it is on the product's packaging. The manufacturer, Epson, knows that it has more than one type of Picturemate system on the market and that the cartridges are not compatible across all Picturemate models - yet the packaging does not state anywhere with which models the print pack is or isn't compatible. This oversight could be easily fixed by adding information to the packaging.

Great Lab Quality Prints At Home5
I am a semi-pro photographer and was looking for an easy way to get proof images and I found it with the Epson Picturemate. The prints cost roughly the same as from my local lab, about 29 cents each, and the quality is sharper and better. You can connect it directly to your computer or print straight from a variety of media cards. The only down side is there is no way to monitor and pick which image you want off the card without first printing a contact sheet.
Since I print from my computer this is really not a problem. The printer is small and portable. Epson claims the prints will last 100 years or more.
