Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly
Who needs a beach for this summer treat? Bright's imprimatur guarantees heat sufficient to melt an ice floe. As her editorial picks generally do, these novellas deliver not just heat but laughter, poignancy and even the occasional deep thought. "The world is full of emptiness; without it there'd be nothing left": thus does a witch console a client left empty after a phenomenal sex spree in Albert's "Charmed I'm Sure." And so it goes with Christina's heroine, Dallas, whose obsession is the eponymous "Bending." When an Internet find, Betsy, arrives to fulfill Dallas's submissive fantasies, it's "the best thing, ever"—except instead of satisfying Dallas, it seems to rob her of her defining passion. Clever Bright saves dessert for last: Soloway's hilarious and sweetly lubricious confessions of 14-year-old Jodi, who has a mad crush on her best friend's father. Written in teen talk, "Jodi K" sometimes has the awkwardness of a translation. But it's enriched by fully realized portraits of family function and dysfunction, and even while sending up teenage erotic confessionals, it feels written from the heart as well as other regions of the body. Review
"'Jodi K' is a deeply felt and funny account of a young girl's burgeoning sexuality by a writer too invested in Jodi's story to allow simplistic political correctness and knee-jerk moralism to get in the way of fully exploring the sexual drive and desires of preadolescents. The result is intense, unjudgmental, hilarious, and wise."

-- Alan Ball, creator, "Six Feet Under," screenwriter and coproducer, "American Beauty"

The perfect three-course erotic meal!5
Reading the three novellas in this book in order is like sitting down and eating a gourmet erotic meal prepared with love and skill by the finest chefs. Whet your appetite with Eric Albert's "Charmed, I'm Sure", a story with equal parts humor, magic and hot sex. When the protagonist buys a special magical charm for the day, he makes sure to sample nearly every sexual treat he can get his hands on.

Once you've had a moment to digest that, dive into the main course, Greta Christina's fabulous "Bending" but be warned that this is one spicy story! From the first page, you're going to be squirming in your seat, sweating just a bit in all the right places and needing a drink of water now and then to keep you going... it's that deliciously erotic. It might be one of the hottest stories you'll ever read, but it's so good you won't be able to stop until it's over.

After you've let the flavors from "Bending" fade, treat yourself to the sweet tale of "Jodi K". Jill Soloway gets right into the mind and specific tastes of a teenage girl, and the result is a fascinating and very satisfying end to a wonderful meal... er, book.

Susie Bright Does It Again5
With Three Kinds Of Asking for It, Susie Bright once again presents us with a collection of erotic novellas that we will want to read over and over. There is a certain indelible thread of earthly spirituality that unites these three superb novellas novellas. All are about transformation and change. For me, the hottest, most memorable and interesting stories about doing IT always include this element and I certainly was not disappointed here.
In Eric Albert's supremely witty,Charmed,I'm Sure, our hero discovers what is under the fine print when he enters into a contract with a very modern witch who accepts credit card payment for her spells. In Bending, beautifully written by Greta Christina, a woman who prefers one sexual position over all others, pushes her sexual envelope so far out she finds a whole new world inside. In Jill Soloway's very wise and very funny Jodi K. we find out what happens when a smart and lovely fourteen year old gets a crush on her best friend's father. All three of these novellas end with a surprise that left me breathless and delighted.
Three Kinds Of Asking For It is a book I want to give to all my friends.

charmed...and heated5
It's seldom you see this kind of erotica: with characters who can be sexy and human at once, scenes that turn you on while at the same time (or maybe later, after you cool back down) you're entranced by their wit and insight and sometimes even a touch of poignancy or romance. These authors care about their writing--you can see it in every sentence. (Susie Bright must have chosen them carefully.) These are stories you can read again and again, and not *just* for the usual reason--though, I can tell you, they're great for that too.
