Susan Thurman has taught English grammar from the junior high level to the college level, and currently teaches at Henderson Community College in Kentucky. She is the editor and publisher of Class Act, a national magazine that features grammar, writing, and ideas for English teachers. She has written more than fifty articles on English instruction, as well as a number of study guides. She lives in Henderson, Kentucky.

As far as grammar books go...
this is a good one. Grammar can be a boring topic, however this book is easy to read and it explains grammar and style very simply at an affordable price. I purchased this book as a refresher. There were many rules that I had forgotten and I had been relying on the spell checker within Word to ensure my documents were grammatically correct. But, I seriously believe that it's important to have a handy reference book to look something up, if you feel spell checker isn't correct.

I recommend against this book.
I was disappointed to have paid good money for this book. Many questions are not resolved clearly. There are four mistakes on page 2 alone. I could not possibly recommend this book to anyone, and I'm sorry I bought it. I gave it one star because I couldn't give it less.
