Jim Davis, the founder of Wild Ride beef jerky, grew up as a fourth-generation Texas cattle rancher, in a community where beef jerky was a part of everyday life. Each family made its own beef jerky from carefully guarded family recipes. Every year there was a jerky tasting contest, where families competed for the glory of making the best Texas jerky. To win was considered the highest honor a person could receive.
As Jim grew older, he found that there was not a jerky on the market like the tender, delicious beef jerky he remembered from his youth. So, determined to make beef jerky the way it was meant to be, he created Wild Ride beef jerky.

Great Stuff
I ordered this on a lightning deal so I got a great price. This jerky is tender and delicious. I believe it is one of the best I've had. The flavor is bold but not overpowering. It is mildly spicy and of course it's salty. I really enjoyed this product and plan to order it again. If you like jerky and are not worried about where the meat comes from or nitrates as other folks stated then you will probably love this stuff.
Great tasting, great portions
True, it's not the healthiest beef jerky. But it's healthier than most kinds you buy in the store. It taste amazing, much better than Jack's Link's or whatever you find in the store. I bought the 4 bags for 13 dollars. And if it goes on sale again, I'll buy it again and again. However, if I get the hankiering for beef jerky again, this will certainly be the brand I'm after.

This is great jerky! Tender, but still chewy and satisfying (not like shoe leather!); the slightly thicker slice on the meat is great. I really appreciate the salty/sweet taste of the Hickory marinade, with its nice hint of black pepper. I think they got it just right. There is enough spice to satisfy adult taste buds, and I don't think the heat will overwhelm older children, but for the little ones, the Teriyaki flavor is sweeter and less spicy. This is definitely a product the whole family will enjoy. Now, if they would just include a small packet of dental floss in each bag, it would be perfect!
