the book could be the fictional "Liar's Poker" and had a good deal of influence on my carreer path as well.

I've read quite a lot of books by Joe Ross in my (very) early stages.
This is the one out of the only two I'd suggest (aside from the overpriced price tag and the poor editing) along with "trading by the minute" (now renamed daytrading) , because it can give the beginners an insight on the method that everyone interested in trading should develop.
