Grandson likes it!
I sent this to my grandson as a birthday present. My son tells me that the kit is of excellent quality and that the two of them enjoyed putting it together. My son reported that the wheels squeaked so, a hint: rub wax onto the axle shafts and points of contact with a candle, then buff with a cloth. Canning wax should also work. Obviously, no petroleum or ANY harmful product should be used.

Great idea for getting started with making models
This is the second of this type of toy I've purchased for my 5 year old son. I have to help get the screws started, but he loves being able to finish screwing them in and having his own screw driver (provided in set) to work with. The kit builds easy and is of good quality wood and screws as none have broken/split with the abuse its recieved. The moveable parts were done well as the tires spin easily, as does the bucket. On this model I added a bit of wood glue to most parts as my son likes to take it apart and try putting it together again, which in the case of the car version we own, results in missing parts.

The wood is easily paintable as well, another thing my son enjoyed doing after putting it all together. These are very well made and enjoyable toys that younger kids can get the same thrill of putting together as us older kids do from our more delicate versions.

Basic, reative toy
My 11-year-old grandson asked for this for his birthday, and was thrilled. It seemed easy for him to assemble and he and his younger brothers enjoy playing with it. He also really likes "hot" R/C toys, but this one seems to be a favorite as well.
