Breaks after a month...stay away
My grandson loved this toy because of the sounds and the lights. A month later it wasn't working at all. We thought it was the batteries and changed them, but sure enough nothing was working. We called Tonka and then they passed us off to the company that manufactures them...P.S. I still haven't heard from them and it's been almost 5 months. It's not worth the money! I highly recommend you buy some other brand of firetruck for your lil'firefighters
Awesome tonka toy for a 4 year old!!!!
He spends hours of his day playing with the firetruck. It was worth the money. Gives me a couple hours of sanity everyday!!!

This is not Tonka quality
I am not overly impressed with the Tonka "Lights & Sound" line. My son received this fire engine for Christmas and the ladder (which is supposed to rotate) worked for about 10 min. He is not particularly rough with this toys, so I am doubtful that he broke it. Unless of course his attempting to rotate the ladder manually (as opposed to the electronic switch) broke the mechanism. I would think most children might attempt to move the ladder on their own and if this were a quality toy, that should not be a problem. So the ladder does not work. I was researching how to return this or fix it and I found out that this is a Tonka toy in name only. It is actually manufactured by a company called Funrise. Tonka has licensed their name. "Real" Tonka trucks would definitely live up to normal kid use. My son also has a "Lights & Sound" garbage truck. Relatively soon, the latch that holds the back hatch of the truck closed broke so now the hatch just hangs open. Again, my son LOVES trucks and treats his toys pretty reverently. I am just not impressed with the quality of these toys.
