Customer Reviews

Fantastic projector, but needs adaptor for 480p or HDTV4
pros:

- great resolution for the price

- very bright - I can project onto a wall right next to a large window on a sunny day, and it's still visible when on full power

- very quiet on the "low" power mode, which is still very bright (its what I almost always use)

- easy to use menu and remote

- focus works over a large range of projection distances

- LCD means no 'rainbow' effect, superior to DLP projection

Just the one, significant con:
while it is in principle compatible with 480p, 720p, 1080i,
it doesn't have the required plugs at the back (component video)
Epson sells an adaptor cable for ~$100, so that you can connect a HDTV or EDTV (480p) input through a VGA plug (what you'd normally use for a computer), but this adaptor is just point-to-point wiring, you can buy one elsewhere for very cheap: you need a
"HD15 (VGA) Male to RCA x 3 Female" adaptor
Don't pay more than $10

If it came with that adaptor, or the right plugs, the projector would certainly receive 5 stars.

Good Projector - Really Good Value5
This projector offers very good performance, super easy set-up and an easy to carry package. There are all the inputs you could want, except for HD video displays. The USB port display is suitable only for still pictures; using it for video will induce your audience to either flee or give up watching. Use the VGA or S-video inputs for video.
There is no S-video cable provided, a minor challenge.
It was up and operating 30 seconds after the box was unpacked.
The cloth carry bag is handy, but I would prefer just a bit more padding.

Great Projector So Far5
So far everything is working great. All the features and quick start guide helped me to be up and running with my projector very quickly. This Epson comes with a great warranty and service.
