Disappointing!2
I expected much more of this book. There are MANY cities and towns in the U.S. having 4-year colleges .... and this book perhaps looks at 0.5% of the total number .... Perhaps I should have looked at the book's page count before I bought it. That would have been a clue to the low number of cities and towns covered. Look at the low prices being asked for used copies of this book. That gives a telling clue to the low values that buyers of the new book place on their used books. I personally do not recommend this book.

Voting with the Majority2
This book might be of good use to a person with no idea of what college and university towns exist in the United States. But despite the great pains the author takes in the introductory chapter to tell us how many miles he traveled in researching it, for anyone -- like me -- who has looked into the subject a little Choose a College Town will feel slim and superficial, with a decided tilt toward the places -- Santa Cruz and Bennington, VT, e.g -- that the author already knows well. I could also do without the cutesy (?) borrowing of obvious 60's song titles for chapter sub-heads. Exam this in-store before buying.

Review of Choose a College Town for Retirement2
I was very disappointed also with this book. I was familiar with at least 95% of the colleges listed. I'd hoped to see some new and refreshing ideas for college towns but was able to skim this book in a very short time and put it down. It wasn't worth the money.
