Don't Hesitate
If you are inspired to ride, this is a good sturdy Uni for the price.
I think this is a great learning unicycle and fine for short commutes. If you want to ride for many miles you will probably want a larger wheel, like the Coker. This one has a comfortable seat and is pretty speedy. It's taken the abuse of my learning period quite well.
I am 5'4" and the 24 inch is a perfect size. I usually ride with the seat only one inch higher than the lowest setting. a 20 inch wheel is the 'free style' size, but i imagine I will be able to do tricks with the 24. It was only intimidating for the first few hours.
Great For Beginners!
This unicycle is great for beginners! I am 6'1" and about the maximum height for this 24" unicycle. I don't know what the minimum height is, but anyone under 15 or a lot shorter might want a unicycle with 20" wheel instead, just because it would easier for them to learn on. It is very durable and can take many unintended dismounts into gravel without getting hurt (I found this out the obvious way). There was one issue I had, the hub assembly loosened over time, but because I bought this uni from a bicycle shop, they tightened everything up under warranty. I do not have the proper tools or ability to do this myself, so a word of caution about buying unicycles online. Otherwise a well designed unicycle for beginners.
Unicycles with 24" wheels like this one are good for bumpy surfaces, and also good for riding distances like I do. Smaller wheels are better for tricks, and learning how to idle in one spot. I recommend that everyone start with a CX model from Torker (with the appropriate wheel size for them) and then step up to advanced unicycles once they have mastered all the basic riding skills.
Torker Unistar
This is a great beginners unicycle and can be a lot of fun with a group of beginners! Just make sure you tighten those nuts on the cranks!
