Editorial Reviews
From AudioFile
The author of DYNAMIC PRESENTATION SKILLS FOR THE BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL offers a short audio course on giving public talks and seminars. It's a comprehensive lesson on managing every part of the presentation process, from investigating audience needs and meeting-room layout to having backup equipment and polished techniques for handling difficult people. The amount of detail Laskowski recommends might seem laborious coming from anyone else, but here it sounds thoughtful and welcome. His passion is thoroughly enhanced by Peter McHugh's smooth interpretation of his ideas. This is one of the best audio lessons on public presentations available. AN EASY WAY TO ELOQUENCE
Throat dry and raspy? Hands damp and clammy, perhaps even a little shaky? Don't worry, chances are you're not coming down with the flu but simply about to speak in public. Why the majority of us are rendered incapable when standing before a group of faces, even loving ones, is a mystery.
However, there is no mystery about the help for our podium petrification found in "10 Days To More Confident Public Speaking" by The Princeton Language Institute. After listening and practicing the useful tips found in this audio many will be almost as eloquent as reader Peter McHugh!
Listeners are shown how to be laid back, be comfortable with their own unique selves, and, of great importance, given insider tips on establishing an instant rapport with an audience. Suggestions as to how to integrate humor abound, as well as memorization techniques. Once a speaker knows the words he or she wants are firmly in mind, there is an added comfort and confidence.
Whether you going to be up before a local historical society or a judge, 10 DAYS TO MORE CONFIDENT PUBLIC SPEAKING is an invaluable aid.

Wow...bad
Or at least not what I was looking for...but based on all the other reviews here, I thought it was. This book has a very limited audience in mind, namely those who are giving "speeches", not just regular, everyday presentations and meetings. The name of the book is deceiving, and so are the reviews. The first chapter is the only one that is moderately worthwhile if you're actually looking for tips on becoming more confident. Otherwise, it is simply a laundry list of ways to give big speeches; not helpful at all to the average joe who works in corporate america and just wants to feel more confident. I realize this is difficult to teach in a book, but the other reviewers gave the impression that I might garner some tidbits on this.
Short, Interesting and Effective!
This is one of those helpful books that make us better both at work and at home. Although focused primarily on (professional) public speaking abilities it may also help us communicate more confidently and therefore more efficiently with our business partners and colleagues, guests on private parties, museum visitors, and tourist group members. The book is well structured, excellently written, easy readable - even for non-native English speakers! - and brimming with interesting observations, suggestions and instructions. You won't need, of course, 10 days to read the book. Quite the contrary: you'll read it within one day only, because it's short and interesting. Its best part, however, relates to its 'Day 5': 'Body Language and Voice' section is given in a very instructive way, so you can get its points immediately and implement the read directly.
I would say that '10 Days to More Confident Public Speaking' by Lenny Laskowski when combined with an another title - 'Persuasion: The Art of Influencing People' by James Borg - can be all professional literature you would really need in order to make yourself a better speaker, presenter and communicator.
The only reason that I didn't give the fifth star is a pretty poor quality of its paper. Any book is a physical product as well, isn't it?
