An old buddy of mine gave me this book on New Year's Eve. He said "You need to read this," and he was right.

I read this in one day -- a quick read, more of a play than a novel, all in the form of a conversation between a guy who wants to assassinate Bush and his friend who's trying to talk him out of it.

This is the second time I've tried to read this book. I got past page 100 and drifted into another book... Bukowski said of Miller, "He was good when he was good, and vice versa."

I saw this last night at Alamo Drafthouse. Very bizarre movie wherein the cloned finger of George W. Bush does naughty things to a horny tutor who became a savant after getting shot in the head. Beware: this is a Japanese soft core porn movie, so there is the obligatory rape scene. If you are a fan of B movies or trippy political satire or really hot Japanese girls, check it out.

Based on a Philip Dick story. There's a 40 minute short film version on the DVD if you don't want to invest an hour & a half of your time. We ended up renting this because we got to the movie theatre too late to see Children of Men.

Better than the first movie... I'm not a huge Kevin Smith fan, but this is probably the best movie of his that I've seen so far -- even better than Mall Rats.

This book kicked my *ss. Great blend of hardboiled noir, mafia drama, political conspiracy and scandalous gossip -- it's got Howard Hughes, J Edgar Hoover, JFK, RFK, the mafia, FBI, CIA, Bay of Pigs, culminating in JFK getting whacked.

It's been about 10 years since the first time I read this... So the wind won't blow it all away... Dust... American... Dust...

Man, I am hooked on this $hlt... This one starts off where 'American Tabloid' ended, and continues on through the 60s -- LBJ, MLK, civil rights, Vietnam... Can't wait for the third book to come out later this year.

When I saw this in the theater last fall I thought, "That should win the Oscar." I'm glad it did. One of the best movies I've ever seen. It stands up to a second viewing, too. Great story, great dialogue, incredible cast.

We heard this sucked, and we watched it anyways. The first 20 minutes were interesting. The action sequences were ridiculously over the top -- even though stuff was blowing up, it was boring. It was really amusing seeing a Ewan McGregor with a Scottish accent talking to a Ewan McGregor with no accent. Buscemi was cool too. It needed more weird sci-fi / less action crap.

Considered one of the great hard science fiction novels, it's about a ship that can't decelerate & so approaches the speed of light, traveling forward in time due to relativistic time dilation. It puts the 'opera' in 'space opera' -- complete with people cheating on each other, breaking up, & fist fights. It starts off slow. I wish I’d read the shorter, original version, 'To Outlive Eternity.'

Just saw '300' in the theater today, my buddy wanted me to go see it... not bad.

I didn't think this would be as good as The Godfather or The Sicilian, but I never should have worried. Puzo can do no wrong. One hell of a storyteller.

Smoggy gothic porno noir... A private eye investigates his partner's gruesome murder, running into vampires, werewolves, and ghosts along the way...

Some friends of mine dragged me to go see Spiderman 3. When Maryjane kissed the other guy, some dude in the audience yelled "The bitch!" That was the best part of the movie.

Sheckley influenced Douglas Adams, and you can see why in this book -- it reads like a proto-Hitchhikers Guide. An entertaining quick read.

Lots of beautiful visuals, but it's difficult watching this guy cause he's so damn awkward and crazy.

Great movie.
