Customer Reviews
Love, love, LOVE this toy!
We bought this for our three year old last Christmas, but it was quickly commandeered by our two-year-old, who simply cannot live without it. Funny thing is, even after nine months, we still only have one story (Pooh), but my little guy never gets tired of it! He watches it every day just before nap and bedtime, and can of course now quote along with the entire book, which we read together during the day. He carries it from room to room some days, and has proven to me that the projector and the cartridge are *very* durable. The battery draw must be very low, because they last forever (we've only replaced them twice since last December). Only drawback is that we can't seem to find any other stories in local stores. I'm finally checking Amazon to see if we can order more, since it looks like this is one toy that will be with us for a long time to come.
Great Toy...Not enough selection in stories
We bought this toy for my then 22 month old son to use when he first moved into his "big boy bed". He loved it. We bought all the stories, and he listened to one EVERY night. It helped him feel safe in his new bed. Now, he is almost 3, and he still uses it at least 4 nights a week. (He trades off and on with listening to music on his FP MP3 player and watching this.) Our only complaint is the lack of selection on the stories. He's starting to get sick of the same 4 over and over.
A really great purchase
I have had this for two weeks now. I got the theater with the Winnie the Pooh story for $9.00 on sale at Wal-mart and haven't regretted it. My kids, 18 months and 3 years, love it. It doesn't replace reading books though. I use it only on bedtime mode right now (where it just plays the story and shuts off on its own). Actually reading the book and flipping through the slides defeats the purpose I think (of sending them into sleep induced euphoria). I read them 2-3 regular books first with the lights on, then I put the projector on in the dark and it lulls them into sleep mode.
I haven't tried looking for other stories yet so I am not sure how expensive they are or how hard to find they are. But as of tomorrow I am on the hunt. They love the pooh story but I imagine it will get old after a while.
There are a couple slides that just seem to be fuzzy regardless that the other slides are crystal clear. I find that a little strange but it doesn't seem to bother my kids so I don't let it bother me. Overall this is a great purchase and especially for the low low price I paid for it! Shop around!
