I'm not even going to go into all the Thomas products you could buy. Plastic, wooden, metal, battery-operated - there's quite the list. Thomas is a classic, though, and many children on the autistic spectrum are very drawn to him. I recommend checking out the selection!

A very fun toy! Check out all the sets - I recommend using one that's fast and easy to put together if you use it in a therapy setting. Save more elaborate layouts for home!

Let's Pretend has a whole line of appliances - washer, microwave, etc. They tend to be appealing for the sounds, buttons, and movement but are also a great way to 'sneak in' some work on pretend play skills!

This is a super fun toy, but some advice - pry the green top off and snip the blue wire attached to the speaker if the whistle drives you crazy.

This is a fun toy and good for sequencing (what do you have to do first, next, last). Also, it is one of the few rockets that is not operated by 'hopping' or 'stomping' on a pump, which many of my kiddos find difficult or impossible. A cheaper, low-tech version are the Rocket Balloons (fun but LOUD) or Mini Foam Rockets.

No success with Candyland? This is a great game for kids who are not usually into organized 'games'. Also check out Silly 6 Pins, another good one.

I haven't tried this brand but own a similar product - very fun, motivating, and a lot of pieces for an adult/therapist to hold as the child works for them or requests them.

Easy and fun, another favorite. Work on sequencing the steps in making it fly, concepts like 'up', 'high', 'fast', etc. As a bonus, the top flies away each time, so you can catch it and have them use the language again for the next round.

A nice toy! Fun but not one of the 'top' motivators on my list, however, I put it down because there are so many things you can do with a child with the writing/drawing aspect.

Some but not all of my students go absolutely nuts for these singing animal toys. Worth a try.

There seems to be something fascinating about cash registers for my spectrum students - the numbers, buttons, and opening doors, I suppose. A good motivation for pretend play activities.

Remote control anything can be a fun toy - Discovery Channel makes some interesting ones that stray from the usual cars and trucks - spiders, dinos, robots and dragons, to name a few.

This is a fun toy. It's not as universally beloved as some of the others listed here, but the kids that love it seem to really love it.
