Easy to clean but too easy to take apart
I loved this highchair for about 1 week, then my child discovered how to get the tray off while he is sitting in the chair. So nearly every time we put him in the chair, off goes the tray, making it basically useless.
Tray, chair height, and back position are adjustable. It doesn't seem to adjust low enough to fit under a table unless you go below position 1, which I'm not sure its designed to do. The seat pad is plastic making it easy to clean. The straps are a bit short for a larger baby, just barely work with my 28 pounder.
So, I'm looking for another one.
The Best High Chair I've Found
Granted, everyone's situation is different, but I didn't really agree with the other reviews for this chair. I had been searching for the perfect high chair to replace my Fisher Price Healthy Care high chair (circa 2001). I took my then 13 month old, 25 lb, 30" son to Babies R Us and sat him in every chair they had (see my review for Baby Trend's Malawi high chair). He is now 2 1/2, 35 lbs, 36" tall, and still sitting securely, with five point harness fastened, in the Easy Clean high chair. It fits over my kitchen table with the tray on from position 4 up, and under the table below position one, as one reviewer mentioned. It seems to be perfectly stable and safe in that lowest position.
The tray is no easier to remove than other chairs I've tried and the chair is made from both plastic and metal, pretty much in the same proportions as any other on the market.
The best part about this chair (and this is HUGE) is that the chair pad and straps can be removed in 5 seconds and thrown into the washer. They come out practically dry after the spin cycle and are ready for the next meal. They go back on almost as quickly as they came off.
My only complaints about this chair are that the tray height adjust sometimes slips down a notch on one side and the tray has to be checked to make sure it is engaged securely. But it is light enough to be removed and replaced with one hand (which comes in handy frequently!) Also, now that my son is 2 1/2 and very rambunctious at times, he can twist and turn and knock the foot rest off. At 35 pounds and almost years old, he probably shouldn't be sitting in a high chair at this point anyway, and will soon outgrow it anyway because of the plastic piece that sits between his legs and keeps smaller children from slipping out. However, just having had another baby seven months ago, it made my life that much easier to know that he was securely seated in his chair until I was ready to set him loose after each meal or finger painting session! Oh, and the base of this chair is a lot wider than my Healthy Care high chair, but after tripping over it a few times, I got used to it. It does make the chair very stable, and the wheels make the chair a breeze to pull around the kitchen.
Easy to clean and sturdy
How easy this highchair is to clean outweighs the only negative I could find with it which is the wide legs that I sometimes trip over. The plastic seat cover and how easily that and the straps come off to wash are great! Also, the tray being dishwasher safe bottom rack is nice. My 16 month old now turns around and points to the animals on the seat and says "roar" for the lion, etc. which is cute...I guess she likes it! Some cited concerns over it's sturdiness but I have to say I have not had any issues with that...my 16 month old sometimes has a temper tantrum in the chair and the highchair holds up really well and seems sturdy. Overall, I recommend it, esp. for ease of cleaning up, sturdiness, and getting baby in and out of it.
