Everything you need to start your business in a flash5
You know that you'll never get rich working for someone else. But most small-business opportunities seem like scams - import/export, vitamins, it's all a hustle. And the more legitimate one-person careers usually seem dreary - scrubbing toilets, washing windows, you get the idea.

But wait! HERE is a business where you really can -
Work at home
Choose your own hours
Become financially independent - in almost no time at all! Through the related fields of Medical Transcription (you write out the doctors' tape-recorded notes) and Medical Claims Billing (you verify insurance reports and eliminate errors), you can provide a valuable service and make a nice chunk of change while you're at it.

This particular book offers tons of practical advice. Not only will you learn the in's and out's of the Medical Claims & Transcription businesses - including where to find clients, how to price your services, which software to choose, and what computer equipment you'll need (not much!) - but you'll also gain insight applicable to any small business you might choose to run. Will this $14 book change your life for ever?

A good start, but incomplete2
This book seems like a good idea. It does contain a good amount of information about starting a business, but a lot of it is toward starting a business in general, rather than about a claims/transcription business, in particular. It deals a lot with manufacturing, for instance, but not so much with service, which would be this type of business. It seems to me that this is a realistic business to start, but you'll need more than this book to do it.

Good outline for billing business3
This book is a good general outline and business reference for anyone considering starting a business. The book focuses on sound general business information applicable to any business and it's owner. What to do and how to market a business, the tasks and research involved. The old adage of fail to plan - plan to fail, comes to mind. The book also has more information for transcription than claims (I think claims was an afterthought), but it discusses process for medical billing and some resources and references that may prove useful. A good general reference book for a claims biller or transcriptionist. However, this book will not give you the training or experience you will need to bill medical claims confidently.
